Welcome to Temple Baptist Church. Today we are going to reflect on those in our military who gave the ultimate sacrifice for liberty and freedom. After the service, we will all go to the flagpole and have an honorable remembrance of our military and our Lord and Savior.
Memorial Day and Veterans Day are both patriotic holidays honoring the military, but there is a significant difference between the two. Memorial Day honors the men and women who died while serving in the military. This solemn occasion is a time to reflect on these American patriots who made the ultimate sacrifice while protecting and defending the country they deeply loved. Veterans Day recognizes all who have served in the Armed Forces.
Still, more fitting, it is important we remember Jesus Christ, who shed His blood for freedom’s cause. For without the sacrifice of our risen Lord, we in America would not enjoy the freedoms we love and know so well, nor would we have salvation from our sins.
