Welcome From The Pastor, June 25, 2023

Welcome to Temple Baptist Church!  Our teens returned from Teen Extreme Bible Camp Friday night.  Some are here to thank you once again for your prayers and financial support to go to camp.  I want to thank our youth leaders who drove the campers to camp:  Israel and Sandra Diaz, Mike and Heather Flynn and Trent and Marjorie Mansfield.

The text for this morning’s sermon is from Psalm 127:3-5.  “Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.  As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.  Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.”

Today is our last of the Mighty Fathers series.  Last Sunday we looked at fathers, who should be mighty in their spirituality. Today we will see that fathers need to train up their children to be fit arrows.  Children are not born spiritually strong.  They must be trained.  We as fathers are to shape them, sharpen them and send them out to honor God.
