Missionaries in Sierra Leone

February/March 2023

February saw continued emphasis on this year’s theme at church: “Committed.” Along with this, we gained an associate pastor, Julius, and a new, adult Sunday school teacher. Pastor Julius has more than ten years’ experience in the ministry and is now leading the church while we are stateside. The couples’ activity, “Date Night 2023,” proved to be both a fun and valuable time for fellowshipping and teaching on God’s plan for marriage. In total, eighteen people shared their Saturday evening, eating, visiting, and learning.

For more than a year, we have requested prayer for land as we have searched and inquired for private–not government–property in Sierra Leone. Specifically, we have desired a location along the southward expanding Peninsular Highway. We are excited to report we have found a potential parcel! Currently, a verbal agreement has been made with the seller. However, before we can move forward legally or financially, the seller has some mandatory paperwork to complete. Please continue to pray as there remain many hurdles to land purchases here in Sierra Leone, and we are in the infant stages of this potential opportunity. Our desire is that God’s will be done as we attempt to move forward, and we are seeking His wisdom, timing, and provision in the decisions ahead.

As this update is typed, our family has returned to the US for our daughter’s pacemaker implant. In the past two weeks, she has visited her cardiologist, reported for surgery, and is now healing after a short hospital stay. Kameron has been incredibly blessed to not experience some of the more concerning symptoms of her condition, and we are anticipating the next 6 weeks of recovery to continue smoothly. While Christin remains stateside with the children, Shaun will be returning again to Sierra Leone next week.

Please join us in praying for the following:

  • God to strengthen the family through February’s “Date Night”

  • Pastor Julius’ leadership in the church

  • God’s timing and wisdom in purchasing land

  • Kameron’s pacemaker implant recovery

  • Election year in Sierra Leone to remain peaceful

·         Shaun’s upcoming travel

Thank you so much for your faithfulness in prayer & financial support!

In Christ,
